About Stilos
Stilos is a quiet village with a long main street following then river’s edge as it winds down to Kalives, about 8 kms distance. There are several shops and small supermarkets which cater for most day to day needs. The village is well known for the several good tavernas which border the river, and it is also the source for Samaria Mineral seen all over Western Crete. There are a number of old early Byzantine churches in the village which have famous frescoes.

Kalives with its long sandy Blue Flag Standard beaches is about 10 minutes drive, Chania about 25 minutes drive away and Chania Airport about 30 minutes away. The surrounding countryside (especially the nearby Dictanos Gorge) is famous for spring flowers.
